The West End Civic Association will soon be needing a new president.  David Barrett, long-serving neighborhood leader, will be retiring from office at the end of his term in June, and WECA is seeking suggestions from the community for someone to replace him.  A planning committee, convened to publicize the vacancy and recruit candidates, is looking for leaders with:

• A commitment to community building
• The ability and willingness to make a reasonable time commitment
• Knowledge of the institutions and workings of city government
• Leadership skills and the ability to run monthly board meetings and quarterly general meetings
• Residence in the West End and some knowledge of WECA history
• Political contacts and skills or an interest in developing them
